Mark Jefferies – multiple British Aerobatic champion – flying the Abarth Extra 330sc in 2011; his second year supported by Abarth Cars UK.
Mark started flying in 1980 and has flown over 130 different types of aircraft from Microlites, WW2 fighters and historic aircraft to L29, Hawker Hunter and modern fast jets – building approximately 3000 hrs flying experience! British aerobatic champion at all levels throughout the years and British Aerobatic team member 10 times. Air display flying started in 1984 with Mark having flown shows in numerous aircraft around Europe and, by invitation, in Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, Romania, Slovenia, Germany, Holland, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Spain, South Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Malta. Mark holds a BCPL with Display authorization issued by the CAA giving display permission to 30 ft fly past and 50ft unlimited aerobatics in group A & B aircraft. For the L-29 jet and YAK 3 & 11 the minimum heights are 100ft fly past and 200ft aerobatics. Formation qualified as leader of large formations flying with the Aerostars for 4 years in number 2, 4, 6 & 7 positions, Mark has flown as a stunt pilot for films. Air racing has also featured in Mark’s varied flying career, flying in several Aero-GP contests.

Mark is also flying as leader of the Global Stars team and has displayed in China (2011) Korea (May 2011) along with other international shows and air shows to support Abarth Cars UK events throughout the UK. Next will be Bahrain, Dubai, (Jan 2012) UAE & Oman (Feb 2012) India (March 2012) at high profile events including Formula One TM
Flying the Abarth Extra 330sc,Mark will put on stunning air displays; thrilling the crowds and spectators at events including Goodwood, Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, Silverstone Classic, Abarth Moth Sailing at Hayling Island, Gosport and Poole; Scottish Motorshow amongst a hectic air display season. Mark Jefferies finished within the World’s Top 10 ranked pilots in 2009 and in 2011 placed 3rd in the World Aerobatic Masters Championship.
The Abarth Extra 330SC aircraft is flown by 9 times British aerobatic champion – this isn’t Red Bull Air Race flying which obviously requires exceptional skill, but is Advanced, Unlimited Freestyle Aerobatics – aircraft perform spectacular manoeuvres, tumbles, spins and cartwheels that leave spectators (and some pilots) saying “How does he do that?”. In the Abarth Extra 330sc Mark can hover – hanging the aircraft in the air purely through the powerful engine and his skill – delivering a flying display an audience will never forget. No show too large or small!
Mark Jefferies flies the Abarth Extra 330SC, the latest, purpose designed, fully certified aerobatic aircraft – a high performing specialist unlimited aerobatic aircraft used at world contest level. With 320 hp and lightweight carbon fibre structure, the Abarth Extra has a climb-rate of 3,500 ft/min (at a 45 degree angle) and a cruising speed of up to 220 mph. They are stressed to plus/minus 10G plus safety margin and have a roll-rate of a staggering 420 deg/sec.
Acknowledged as one of the UK’s greatest aviators ever, highly respected by his peers and a huge favorite with the fans and spectators at air shows and air displays around the world.
